Late Friday night, Donal Trump issued a video apology after his vulgar comments about women from a 2005 interview leaked. "I said it, it was wrong, and I apologize," Trump said in the minute-long video posted to his social media account.
"I've never said I'm
a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I'm not. I've said and done
things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old
video are one of them," Trump added. "Anyone who knows me, know these
words don't reflect who I am."
Trump's video apology
came hours after the Republican nominee dismissed the footage as "locker
room talk" and apologized only if anyone was offended by the comments.
Both sides of the aisle were quick to admonish Trump for his remarks – which included
the mogul bragging to Access
Hollywood's Billy Bush that celebrities "can get away with
anything" with women, even "grab them in the pussy" – with
Hillary Clinton tweeting that
what Trump said was "horrific."

| Killer Clowns |
Teens who allegedly made fake killer clown threats charged.
At least two teens in Gloucester County
have been arrested and charged for allegedly posting social media
threats similar to the creepy “clown”
craze going on around the country, police said.
More charges may be on the way for two juveniles in
Deptford Township, police said Monday night.
One of the teens charged is a
13-year-old female — whose identity was not released, but attends Bunker
Hill Middle School in Washington Township. Police said she made threats that
started out "broadly based," Washington Township Police Department
Capt. Dennis Sims said Monday evening. Those threats against students later
turned much more specific, Sims added. Names and addresses of specific people
were included in the threat, according to police.
According to NBC10, the girl made the threats because of the current trend, which
began with reports of people dressed as clowns in rural South Carolina trying
to lure kids into the woods, and because she thought it would be funny. The
report adds that the teen's parents are cooperating with investigators.
The girl was charged with one count of cyber harassment, a
fourth-degree crime, and released to her parents, police said.
Police said later Monday that a second teen — a
14-year-old male — was charged with cyber harrassment in connection with a
separate, but similar, investigation.
The Washington Township schools superintendent, Joseph
Bollendorf, said Monday night that the district was "saddened" to
learn of the charges.
"Our District recognizes the seriousness of these
threats and has no tolerance for any proposed acts of violence or personal
injury," Bollendorf wrote. "The safety of our students and staff
remain our foremost priority, and we will continue to hold those that threaten
our security accountable."
Deptford Police said on Monday that two juveniles will be
charged with false public alarm in relation to two different social media
accounts that were created and posted threats about clowns coming to harm
students and teachers specifically at Deptford schools.
While there have been numerous copy-cat
posts on social media in which specific schools or towns have been named, most
of the fear began with a since-deleted Facebook message posted late last
week by an account called Aint Clownin Around. The post — which also spurred South Jersey law enforcement to
investigate — read, "we will be at all High schools this
friday to either kidnapp students or kill teachers going to they cars."
In Philadelphia, another 13-year-old girl was tied to a
"prank" played out on Instagram involving the clown threat.
A statement from the School District of Philadelphia's
Office of School Safety read, "the safety of our children and the
communities surrounding our schools is a top priority for us and we are taking
this matter seriously."

Killer Clown Sightings - Teens who allegedly made fake killer clown threats charged.

Two paintings by Dutch master Van Gogh that were stolen from a museum in Amsterdam almost 14 years ago have been recovered by Italian Anti-Mafia police.
The artworks — Seascape at Scheveningen and Congregation leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen — date from the late 19th Century and were taken from the Van Gogh Museum in December 2002.
Police in Naples said the "priceless" paintings were found during a raid against a Naples-based crime syndicate that was suspected of cocaine trafficking. They said the artworks were hidden with other property worth “tens of millions of euros."
Axel
Rüger, the director of the Van Gogh Museum thanked the organizations that
helped find the paintings.
“After
all those years you no longer dare to count on a possible return. The paintings
have been found! That I would be able to ever pronounce these words is
something I had no longer dared to hope for ” he said in a statement.
The
museum said the paintings, whose frames were removed, appeared to be “in fairly
good condition” but showed signs of some damage.
"It
is unknown where the works were kept after the theft in 2002, but it can be
assumed that the paintings were not preserved under suitable conditions,"
a statement by the museum said.
"The
art historical value of the paintings for the collection is huge," it
added.
Rüger
said it wasn’t yet clear when the paintings would be returned to
Amsterdam. A news conference was scheduled to take place in
Naples, Italy on Friday morning.

A federal jury in Texas has ordered Apple to pay $302.4 million in
damages to VirnetX Holding Corp. over the use of patented internet security
technology without permission, included in its Facetime communications app.
VirnetX, based in Nevada, is considered to be what is known in the
industry as a patent troll. The company has no products in the market, but it
makes money by licensing patents and then filing lawsuits against companies
that infringe on them.
The patent battle between Apple and VirnetX started in 2010, when the patent troll filed a lawsuit against Apple in Texas for the infringement of four patents. Many cases on patent infringement are handled in courts in Texas, as these courts are known to favor plaintiffs who allege that other companies have infringed on their patents.
The amount of $302.4 million that Apple was ordered to pay to
VirnetX came from a retrial that had the jury determine how much Apple
needs to pay for two patents that were already found to have been infringed,
and to determine if the other two patents were also infringed and the damages
that will be associated with them.
The damages that the jury ordered Apple to pay is lower than what
was awarded to VirnetX in 2012, when the jury said Apple owed $368.2 million in
damages. The Court of Appeals, however, overturned part of the verdict, citing
issues on the instructions that the trial judge gave to the jurors on how to
calculate for the damages.
The highest amount that the jury awarded to VirnetX was back in February, when
Apple was ordered to pay $625.6 million. The amount was one of the highest ever
awards ever recorded in a patent case in the United States. However, the judge
handling the case, Robert Schroeder, moved for the retrial, stating that the
repeated references to the earlier case may have caused confusion among the jurors,
leading to an unfair trial for Apple.
The case between the two companies, however, is not yet over, as
there will be another trial to determine if Apple willfully infringed on the
patents. If Apple will be found to have consciously made the infringements, the
total amount that Apple will have to pay to VirnetX would increase. In addition
to this second trial, Apple will also have to deal with another lawsuit that
VirnetX has filed over the newer releases of security features by the company,
along with features on the iMessage app.
However, for VirnetX to actually receive money from Apple, the case will have to
once again go through the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in
Washington, the specialty of which is patent law.

It’s Michael Jackson’s birthday. He would have been 51 years old on Monday.
The world lost a true icon when Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009, but his legacy lives on through his music and league of diehard fans.
Celebrate the beloved King of Pop and check out a list filled with interesting facts, songs and quotes from Jackson below:
He used let his pet snake loose in the studio: In an interview with The Guardian, famous music producer Quincy Jones recalled the countless times Jackson would show up at the studio with his chimpanzees and Muscles, his pet snake. “I didn’t like that. The snake used to wrap itself around my leg. Man, I didn’t like that at all. It would call in the console. I’m not into snakes,” Jones said, detailing one day he and Jackson found Muscles stuck in a bird cage. “One day I said, ‘Where’s Muscles?’ and we went downstairs and Muscles was in the parrot cage. He had just eaten the parrot and his head got stuck in the bars of the cage.”

| United Airline Pilots Arrested For Being Too Drunk |
Two pilots were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol as they prepared to fly a transatlantic passenger jet from Scotland to the US.
Concerns were reportedly raised over the pilots before the 9am United Airlines UA162 flight to Newark, New Jersey, was due to depart from Glasgow Airport on Saturday.
Police said the two men - aged 35 and 45 - were arrested and detained in police custody.
The flight, carrying 141 passengers, eventually took off on Saturday evening with a new crew on board.
The men are expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that two men aged 35 and 45 have been arrested and are presently detained in police custody in connection with alleged offences under the Railways and Transport Safety Act 2003, Section 93."
The section of the Act relates to carrying out pilot function or activity while exceeding the prescribed limit of alcohol.
A spokesman for Glasgow Airport added: "We are aware of the police incident yesterday involving two pilots."
The incident follows the appearance in court last month of two Canadian pilots charged with being drunk as they prepared to fly a passenger jet from Scotland to Toronto.
Jean-Francois Perreault, 39, and Imran Zafar Syed, 37, were arrested on Monday July 18 before they were due to take off on the Air Transat flight from Glasgow Airport.
The men were remanded in custody when they first appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court, also charged under section 93 of the same Act.
At a second hearing at the same court they were granted bail on condition they surrender their passports.
Section 93 of the Railway and Transport Safety Act states: ''A person commits an offence if he performs an aviation function at a time when the proportion of alcohol in his breath, blood or urine exceeds the prescribed limit, or he carries out an activity which is ancillary to an aviation function at a time when the proportion of alcohol in his breath, blood or urine exceeds the prescribed limit.''
For pilots, the limit of alcohol in the case of breath is nine microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres, according to the Act.
A spokesman for United Airlines said: "The two pilots have been removed from service and their flying duties.
"We are co-operating with the authorities and will conduct our own investigation as well. The safety of our customers and crew is our highest priority."
